The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is an international organisation that is dedicated to supporting developing and emerging countries to transition to a model of green growth, that simultaneously achieves poverty reduction, social inclusion, environmental sustainability, and economic growth.
Since establishment as an international organization in 2012, GGGI’s partnerships have expanded to over 40 countries, including its 28 Member countries, and those in accession. Dr Rijsberman is the Director-General of the GGGI
Working across the thematic priorities of sustainable energy, green cities, sustainable landscapes, and water and sanitation, GGGI aims to deliver reduced GHG emissions, creation of green jobs, access to sustainable services, improved air quality, adequate supply of ecosystem services, and enhanced adaptation to climate change.
GGGI achieves by partnering with governments to strengthen their green growth frameworks, increase green investment flows, and improve knowledge sharing and learning between countries.
This event was be an opportunity to learn more about GGGI’s programs in the Pacific, Asia and internationally, as a basis for strengthening cooperation with New Zealand-based organizations active in supporting effective high quality programs focused on green growth and sustainable development.
