+ Podcast: Afghan interpreter now a target for Taliban The nonprofit No One Left Behind, which works to help interpreters secure visas, says several hundred Afghan interpreters and their family members have already been killed since 2001 because of their association with American forces. There are roughly 40 interpreters, electricians and drivers who worked with NZDF and aid charities over the last 20 years, asking for visas to bring them and their families to safety here.
