Writing Contest Presented by the Council of International Development!

Calling all University Students! Would you like to gain professional recognition for your writing? Build your portfolio with published work? Gain free access to CID’s Dev101 course? Enter our writing contest!  We will be choosing a selection of winners to be published in our newsletter on student perspectives. 

We are interested in submissions focused on humanitarian and international developmental issues affecting New Zealand and/or the Pacific.

How to Enter:

  • Writing pieces must be around 500 words, or feel free to submit a longer piece that includes a 500-word summary. 
  • Submissions must be original work, factually accurate with references, non-plagiarized, and of respectful language. Submitting to this contest gives CID copyright permission to publish your work and name in our newsletter if successful. 
  • We will select the top 3 articles to receive a Certificate of Recognition and free access to our Dev101 online course.
  • Winners will be contacted via email and announced on our online platforms, including our website, social media and newsletter.
