This year’s International Women's Day is in recognition and celebration of the women and girls who are leading the charge on climate change adaptation and response.
We want to highlight and celebrate an influential and inspiring Pacific woman, Brianna Fruean.
Brianna is a 22-year-old Samoan Climate Change Activist who has been leading community grassroots projects pushing for climate justice for most of her life.
Speaking passionately at the COP26 climate change conference in November last year, she said: “If you’re looking for inspiration on climate leadership, take a look at young Pacific people. We are not just victims to this crisis, we have been resilient beacons of hope.”
Brianna recently spoke to RNZ about the recently released IPCC report about what the findings mean for Pacific people.
