In his address at our New Ways to Work conference last week, PM Mark Brown had a strong message to COP26 and larger developed, high co2 emitting countries, saying that it is them that must drastically reduce emissions and take action. He said that Pacific Island countries' emissions "amount to a match flame in a forest fire" and his focus for the Cook Islands right now, is around adaptation and resilience.
Hon Mark brown said that "the Cook Islands, like many other small island states, are at the frontline of the climate emergency" and he called for "action now, not later".
