Researchers at Dev Policy Blog have released a report looking to understand how work opportunities in NZ are being shared among RSE workers. A recent report investigated participation numbers, but this time researchers looked to examine the patterns in new and returning RSE workers in New Zealand.
An analysis of the results found that almost half of RSE workers in the scheme’s operation have only taken part for one season, making it clear that work opportunities are being distributed and not reliant on those who return. Simultaneously, majority of returning workers only stay two or three seasons which alleviates concerns that the workers themselves are reliant on the scheme.
