Safeguarding Policies, Templates, and Reports
Oxfam Australia Child Safeguarding Toolkit
CID would like to thank Oxfam Australia who has shared their Child Safeguarding Toolkit (see link above). You’ll find a number of templates, checklists and tools. The Toolkit was developed with Oxfam programs and operations in mind, however, the guidance information and templates can be adapted for the purpose of many different organisations, large or small.
The Toolkit was written prior to the focus on Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA) so it does not cover the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse of vulnerable adults/beneficiary communities/workers, however as we know similar safeguarding strategies and measures can be applied to the prevention of SEA.

Safeguarding, Sexual Misconduct, and Leadership
In September 2018, CID partnered with member organisations to hold two Safeguarding Workshops in Wellington and Auckland to reiterate the importance of safeguarding and policy in light of recent allegations of sexual misconduct by aid workers overseas. The workshop was facilitated by Fiona Williams with a video message from SaveTheChildren founder, Richard Powell. Fiona Williams’ presentation and CID’s Safeguarding Report are available below
