Calling all photographers!
It is time to submit entries for the CID photo competition. Entries will be judged on originality, narrative, and composition.

We have four categories that you can enter under:
- International Development (amateur photographers)
- Humanitarian Aid & Emergency Response (amateur photographers)
- Professional photographers - Humanitarian & Development (non-prize category)
- ‘Locally-led’ – could include partners (be creative!)
Winning and runner-up photographs will be exhibited at the Conference dinner at parliament (20 October) and promoted via the CID Instagram account.
Winners will receive a prize of $200
Photo requirements
- Photographs must be a minimum 300 dpi;
- You must have gained the permission of any person who features in the photograph
- Photographs must be accompanied with the location, photographer’s name and a very brief description of the activity with those featured named if possible - e.g. “Emali, Kenya: Masai family planting drought resistance crops following training as part of building resilience for drought affected communities in Kenya. Photo: Joe Smith, Aid2All NZ Aotearoa”
- All photos should reflect the principles and obligations of the CID Code of Conduct; specially C.1.3 Portrayal of local people.
- You/organisations can submit up to six photographs per category;
- Submitting photographs indicates your agreement that CID can use the photos in its publications to promote good development practice;
- CID will not release any entries received to any third party; and photo credits for the photographer and related NGO will be given for all photos used in any CID publication.
- Selected photos will be exhibited in a public space (with organisation credit & logo) and promoted through CID's communication channels.
