The CID Code of Conduct is a voluntary, self-regulatory sector code of good practice that aims to improve international development outcomes and increase stakeholder trust by enhancing the transparency and accountability of signatory organisations. It serves both as a guide to good practice and as a risk management document.
We have developed a free online course that anyone can take to learn more about the Code.
Course Overview
This e-learning course is a free self-guided course, which involves some reading and a multichoice test. It should take you around 15-20 minutes to complete.
This e-learning course is designed for:
- Staff, board members, interns and volunteers working in CID member organisations.
- Anyone who would like to improve their understanding of how aid agencies and CID members are held accountable for good practice and transparency through the CID Code.
- Any organisation or individual thinking about becoming a CID member or supporter.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the e-learning module, participants should be able to understand:
- What the CID Code is and how it works.
- How it contributes to effective development by strengthening accountability, transparency and good practice.
- Its structure and the scope of the obligations (including the mandatory obligations) under its three main principles.
- How CID member organisations self-assesses their compliance, and how this compliance is independently substantiated by CID.
- How CID support’s organisations journey towards further compliance and good practice, and how this is communicated to the public.
